spin class, round two tonight! it went well. i was sweatier than i have ever been, i think.

the instructor (last week someone was filling in, the “real” one was back tonight) is funny. she has a really thick boston accent and she yells a lot. the girl next to me was, like, texting a few times(?!) and the instructor was like “hey, doctor!?! put the phone away!” and i was amused. and grateful, as the light from the phone was really distracting.

also, idk why spin classes occur in the dark (at least at my gym), but i’m glad they do. see: aforementioned sweatiness. also, the walls in the room are black and have fun shit painted on them, like planets…and a fucking pegasus! hells yeah.

attended my first spin class; didn’t die! \o/ i did however sweat like a horse, wow. it was hard, but i actually really enjoyed it. i’ll be going again for sure. :D

oh boy, tumblr!

one of my june goals was to try a spin class, which i kept forgetting to do. and seeing as how june is almost over, it’s a good thing that tonight at 6 my gym has what it calls “begin total body spin” which i hope means it’s for beginners.

i’m a little skurred and i feel like i’m totally not going to be able to walk tomorrow, but i’m going! \o/


started week 7 of couch to 5k today! all three days this week are 25-minute runs, as was the last day of week 6. that day wasn’t bad. today was hard. but i got through it, and it’ll only get easier! :D

finished W6D3 of couch to 5k! 5 minutes walking, 25 running, 5 walking.

it actually wasn’t too terrible, either. next week i’m going to work on increasing my speed a little; right now i’m doing a 12-minute mile, which isn’t horrible, but it’s pretty slow. my biggest problem with longer runs like that is that i get a little bored…which is why i should probably run outside instead of on a treadmill, but it’s just too hot for that.

down another pound to 182, woo! aunt flo just got here, which: blah, but at least now i realize why i was so fucking hungry all day yesterday.

just had some chicken for breakfast, which was random, but i just couldn’t face a bowl of oatmeal today and i didn’t have anything else really breakfast-y on hand.

my collarbones have showed up to play in the past week or so. i’m obsessed with them. it’s been a while, babies; hello!

i’m actually feeling pretty good right now, so i’m going to go and log some severe cardio at the gym so that later, when i inevitably feel like ass, i can curl up with a heating pad and a little chocolate and feel okay about it. i gotta stay on point this weekend as much as i can - i’m sooooo close to a) the 170s, b) being just “overweight,” bmi-wise, and c) having lost 40 fucking pounds! c’mon, self!

still chilling at 183 today, which i’m okay with. i got a little spoiled because i had a loss on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th, which felt fucking awesome, but i knew couldn’t last forever.

i ended up eating, like, 880 calories yesterday somehow. i think it was because i ended up eating all of my meals a little late and then going to bed kind of early? …or something? i don’t know. i had 200 cals at breakfast, 240 at lunch and about another 240 at dinner (i have a good recipe, i’ll post it later), and the only snack i had all day was a fiber one bar for 90 cals. i looked at my food log around 10 and i’d only had 700-something, so i had a skinny cow mint truffle bar because that just seemed way excessively low, and it was the only thing i really felt like having as i wasn’t particularly hungry.

yesterday also consisted of about 20 minutes on the elliptical, week 5 day 1 of couch to 5k, and zumba! as a result, i finished the day with -82 net calories. so, yay, but also, wtf?

zumba was awesome, tho. i was sweating like a beast!! it’s funny, i used to hate sweating, but now i kind of like it. i do feel a little embarrassed sometimes that i am unfailingly the sweatiest person in any given fitness activity, but fuck it. sweaty power!

also, i’m a good dancer and pick things up quickly (i took dance from the time i was in preschool all through high school) and the zumba teacher has practically made me her assistant. :P last week she left the room for a minute to mess with the music and told everyone to follow me, and then last night, since the class was crowded, she told people to watch me if they couldn’t see her. she thanked me after class for helping out and told me to always stay up front! it was nice to feel really competent about something fitness-related.
